On the move....

A CALL TO ACTION: FROM GRIEF TO GROWTH was on the move again Sunday afternoon February 27, 2022. We piled into the Navigator, 6 of us, and 3 others followed us down. We had a “wanna- be- caravan”, but it was fun riding together and planning for the future and seeing the beautiful countryside. If you have never been to Lebanon, you should take a Sunday afternoon ride. The ride is beautiful!!! There is so much untouched land, and it is peaceful!!

My family and I were blessed to be in Lebanon Kentucky at the Centre Square in the middle of town at 3:00pm. We were blessed with the presence of approximately 50 local town people including the Mayor of Lebanon who came out for our presentation. What we found here is what we find everywhere we go; and that is, there are always persons who have lost a loved one or a close friend to gun violence or wounded due to gun violence.

A special thanks to Jackie Moffitt Furmon, Desmond Spalding and Jeroyd Evans from the Marian County Youth Center, and Ms. Edna Seabrooks, president of the NAACP Branch. Ms. Seabrooks spoke and shared about her LPCC license to inform the audience of the services that are available in the community.

Mr. William Caldwell, Campbellsville University (CU) colleague of mine, who lives in Lebanon, also shared about his agency and his LCSW and LDAC licenses’. His wife was also in attendance, and she has an LDAC also. It was really nice to see Neil there. It was also nice that Khara Kinkade, another colleague from CU had an opportunity to attend our event.

Thanks to Reverend Tommy Calhoun and First Lady Therese Calhoun with First Baptist Church for the invitation to come down. Thanks to the Marian County Youth Center, and the Lebanon Branch NAACP for hosting us.
